Dr. Nazim Cerkes had his plastic surgery training between 1985-1990 at the Department of Plastic And Reconstructive Surgery, Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. During his residency, he specifically worked on the field of microsurgery and started the first clinical applications of reconstructive microsurgery at the department.
Between 1990 – 1991 worked in UAB (The University of Alabama at Birmingham – USA) at the Department of Plastic Surgery as research and clinical fellow.
Between 1992-2002 Doctor Nazim Cerkes served as Associate Professor in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine.
In the beginning of 2002, he founded Cosmed Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Center and has been in private practice since that time.
Dr.Cerkes has been invited several important international meetings to give lectures and perform live surgery demonstrations, particularly on rhinoplasty. Every year many plastic surgeons from all over the world visit his clinic to observe his rhinoplasty techniques.
Prof Dr Nazim Cerkes has been the President of The Rhinoplasty Society of Europe and 1st Vice President of International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery between 2016 – 2018 and Past President of Turkish Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery between 2009 – 2012. After performing as the President Elect of International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery between 2018 – 2020 Prof Cerkes has become the President of it for the time period of 2020 to 2022.
